Walkway along the house set out with string lines and pegs, excavated, built up and laid in grey concrete slabs — including a curved stretcher-pattern section fitted around beds, drainage and the plinth, tying into the existing paving at the garage.

The room prepared from the ground up: old floor covering removed, new subfloor laid and levelled, walls filled and painted in several coats, and finally new vinyl flooring laid with skirting fitted around the radiator and sloping wall.
